An island bench encased in New York Marble isn’t the typical choice for most kitchens. In a sea of Carrara (which we love) and smart stone our clients at Greenhills Beach in Sydney’s south have decided to follow their own tastes.
The build itself is an ultra-modern new build that uses material choices to add texture and warmth so when it came time to decide what material to use for the kitchen island and benchtops it was always going to be a natural stone. I think you will agree that this honed new york marble is a knockout
Known for its striking veining this slab of new york marble has a hint of purple undertone. The abundance of natural light coming in from the window splashback and void above sets off the white veining that occurs across the rest of the slab. While the oak floorboards and white cabinetry soften the overall look of kitchen our clients have chosen a dark grey paint finish for the adjacent wall pairing back nicely with the sabre window frames and moodiness of the new york marble.
New York marble will be ultallised for all other bench tops including the pantry, powder room, laundry and bathrooms.
